What to do if you are served with a Notice
In all cases, the owners and occupiers of properties affected by an Authorities scheme will be served Notices. If you are served with a request from an authority to survey your land you should ask for details on the scheme. It is up to the owner or occupier to tell the authority how their scheme will affect you. It is highly important that you act as soon as possible in all Compulsory Purchase Matters.
What compensation is available?
The compensation paid reflects the losses and disturbance caused by a compulsory purchase or statutory scheme on an owner or occupier's property. The aim is to return the owner or occupier to the same position they were in before the scheme had happened.
How do I claim?
It is up to the claimant to prove any losses to claim for compensation.
If your property has suffered a loss as a result of a nearby scheme, you may also be able to claim compensation.
